Buckets solve a small bathroom dilemma
August 10, 2009 # 1:00 PM # Decluttering # One CommentThis tip comes from a reader of OPTED magazine:
Use color coded buckets to carry into a small bathroom used by multiple family members, rather than everyone cramming in their supplies into a tight space!
Fantastic idea, for many reasons. If you’re like me, there’s a central bathroom in your house that may be used by multiple family members. If there isn’t much storage, trying to keep everything handy is a challenge. If you have a closet or linen cabinet nearby, try buying color coded buckets for each bathroom user.
Some bathroom items are communal, like toilet paper, bandaids in the medicine cabinet, and toothpaste (but even some are picky about their taste and style!) But for all the items that are individual specific, put them all in a small caddy that can be carried into the bathroom and carried out when your “bathroom shift” is over!
Another bonus to this strategy is that it makes shopping easier as well — all it takes is a glance into a bucket to see if your favorite shampoo, conditioner or lotion are running low!
